I was invited for a mini-residency at Kunsthal 45 in Den Helder. Kunsthal 45 will move out of its current exhibition space next to the sea, into a new space downtown. To bridge the time in between, they organise a series of “Kunstvierdaagse”: every month, four different artists will stay and work for four days at the current space. The overall theme is “move” / verhuizing.
Colleague artists Susana Mulas Lastra, Roosmarijn Schoonewelle, Cathelijn van Goor and me were the first four to go!
I made a quilted wall rug from my own and my family’s shirts that I had been saving for the past 10 years.
It is 120 x 160 cm. All recycled fabric and material. In case you wonder about the backside, it’s my daughter’s kid-rug ☺️
